Nine to five; begin again. Working for the man. Eight thirty-seven Ante meridiem. Must I go again? Always a bit late; Does not seem to matter much. Pour a fresh coffee. Take a seat, sign in. Check E-mail and read the news; Another merger. Nine thirty meeting Unprepared — what else is new? No one will notice. Eleven o'clock. Not lunch yet; more Web surfing; How does she do that? |

Noon has come. I eat. Lunchroom banter. Rumor mill. Back to work I guess. Another meeting. Does not change a single thing. Nose to the grindstone. Water cooler chat. Sally is pregnant again; Long, paid vacation. Three hours left to go. Reading reports half asleep. I wish it was four. Half past three PM. The Internet is my friend. YouTube will save me. Finally its four; Only an hour to endure. Slashdot: News for nerds. |
